The Elkhorn Log Cabin, located in the scenic town of Wolverine, Michigan, has undergone a meticulous restoration to create an ambiance of warmth and charm. The restoration process involved the careful use of locally sourced, reclaimed woods and materials, resulting in a rustic yet refined atmosphere. The strategically placed windows provide stunning views of the surrounding forest and encourage natural airflow. In my opinion there is not many places that surpass this idyllic location.
Good to know
The open floorplan gives the cabin a sense of "home" immediately felt upon entering. The mixture of Bohemian and rustic design gives it a warm and cozy feeling. Enjoy those brisk Northern Michigan evenings next to our Norwegian Modern Fireplace. With very little light pollution, the expansive night sky in your backyard is especially clear, making for excellent stargazing. Enjoy the stars beside a fire in our outdoor chimenea firepit or have a bbq on our Weber charcoal grill. Enjoy our 10 neighbor-free private acres complete with a large, well manicured yard-an excellent space for kids to play. It is very common to see elk, whitetail deer, rabbits, partridge, turkeys and geese right in the backyard while enjoying your coffee in the morning. Elkhorn Cabin sleeps 4 comfortably with a Queen Bedroom on the main floor and another Queen Bedroom in the loft on the cabin side. Its great for couples, a small family, or a group of friends. Elkhorn Cabin is a guest cabin on our property and our main home is adjacent to the cabin. This property is extremely private yet very close to town. We are approximately: *5 minutes from I-75 exit *10 minutes to Downtown Indian River *20 minutes to Gaylord *30 minutes to Petoskey *30 minutes to Harbor Springs *40 minutes to Charlevoix *35 minutes to Mackinaw City

Have fun and be respectful that's all we ask. We are extremely layed back and really strive to make sure our guests have the best experience possible while staying in our homes. Please note our cabin is in the middle of the woods, we do our absolute best to control insects and rodents but you may encounter but not limited to ants,mosquitoes, black flies, horse flies, ticks, mice, squirrels, raccoons, etc. We hate insects inside as much as anyone else and always put traps and do scheduled extermination but this is mother nature and we cannot control every single insect and rodent in the woods.

Parked squarely in the center of all that is fun in northern lower Michigan, Wolverine is approximately 30 miles south of the Straits of Mackinac, between Burt and Mullett Lakes, not far from Lake Michigan and Huron for boating and fishing and in the midst of several state parks and vast stretches of forest land that provide areas for camping, ORV riding, snowmobiling and hunting. Being centrally located between Petoskey, Cheboygan, Mackinaw City and Gaylord means a wide variety of restaurants, shopping, casinos, movie theaters, bowling alleys, downhill skiing, local events, antique shops and endless entertainment opportunities are available for daytrips.
